Thaumatropes

A thaumatrope is a very old toy. Thaumatrope is a special name for a toy which makes a 'magic' picture when it is spun. Most people call them spinners, or magic spinners. They can be a lot of fun.

Instructions

1. Download the spinners page.
2. Carefully cut out each spinner.
3. Gently score along the dotted line.
4. Fold your spinner along the dotted line.
5. Lay a strong piece of string or wool across the inside of your spinner.
6. Glue the two halves of the spinner together.
7. Allow plenty of time for the glue to dry.
8. Spin your thaumatrope and watch the magic picture appear.
