The Hull Cenotaph

Have you ever visited Hull's cenotaph?
Do you know where it is?

Hull's cenotaph is on Ferensway, almost opposite the train station. The foundation stone was laid by the Lord Mayor of Hull in 1923.

On your next trip into town, visit the cenotaph and try to answer the following questions;

1. What was the Lord Mayor's name and when did he lay the foundation stone? (Hint: look around the back.)
2. Look at the statue of the two soldiers. When was the South African war?
3. When was the Normandy Campaign?
4. Three of the people who were awarded the Victoria Cross medal had the same first name. What is that name?
